Which are the best in a sonic sense?

None, if you are speaking of the SUN Records era. They just sound like typical Sun recordings (which I love, but they ain't sonic masterpieces).

Get the Bear Family Jerry Lee Lewis box.

It sounds the best, and has Jerry talking about (I kid you not) eating Pus*y in one of the outtakes to "Great Balls Of Fire".

Worth the price of the box by itself.

Oh, get the Bear Family Carl Perkins box while you are at it!

    Steve,

Isn't there some SUN material (not necessarily Jerry Lee) on your "Legends" CD that you did on Garland? Did those songs not turn out very well?

    Chip,

I have that CD and to my ears, the JLL tracks sound very good!
