I don't mind the new single, this is the first post-Ronnie song I've actually listened to and it wasn't bad for what it is, IMO

" The BBC DVD features live performances of ‘Double Trouble,’ ‘I Ain’t the One,’ ‘Call Me the Breeze,’ ’I Got the Same Old Blues,’ ‘Every Mother’s Son,’ ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ and ‘Free Bird,’ from Nov. 11, 1975. "

This is Disc 2 of the Gimme Back My Bullets Deluxe Edition.
Repackaging / reissue, whatever. Apparently the DE is OOP ?

The DVD-Audio/Video disc showcases – in 96kHz/24-bit uncompressed and 48kHz/24-bit Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound — ”Saturday Night Special,” “Gimme Three Steps,” “Swamp Music,” “Gimme Back My Bullets,” “The Ballad Of Curtis Loew,” “You Got That Right,” “That Smell,” “All I Can Do Is Write About It,” “Simple Man” and “Free Bird” (the complete, 10+ minute extended version).

This was the 2002 DVD-A Then And Now, also OOP.

The DVD-A surround disc should be fun and a bargain at under $12. The Old Grey Whistle footage was on VH1-Classics about five years ago. At the time the SD 480i picture and digital mono sound impressed me.

I never bought that cause I figured it was old tracks played by the new band.

    Was I right or wrong?

It was a combo, but it sounded horrible...like a Silverline, just soaked in echo.

Usually I don't associate Scheiner's name with Silverline style echo and reverb faux surround ickyness.

Is there a piano/keyboard player on this album/in the band now?

Shame, as old-school Skynyrd in hi-res is one of my wet dreams. I guess I can safely pass on this again.

    Thanks, Myke!

Of course! You can't have Skynyrd without piano. Current guy is called Peter Keys.

Agreed, probably why it says NEWLY MIXED BY... I'm going to wait for the reviews on the surround disc before possibly getting this.

The other 2 discs are in my collection already, so it's definitely not high on my priority list.

This is NOT a DVD-A, this disc complies with the standard DVD specs.

The track list of the 2002 DVD-A from Silverline was:

    1. Saturday Night Special
    2. Workin’
    3. Preacher Man
    4. Tomorrow’s Goodbye
    5. That Smell
    6. Gone Fishin’
    7. Simple Man
    8. Voodoo Lake
    9. Sweet Home Alabama
    10. Free Bird

Going by that alone, it doesn't seem like the new one is the same thing.

The reason I asked is because the Wiki page for the new album (here) doesn't include a keyboard player - everything but.

It's certainly possible for them to record a new album without one, though it'd be tough to do concerts.

I'll buy it tomorrow and let you guys know. I usually love Scheiner's surround mixes.

I finally just got a chance to check the track listing for that old DVD-A I mentioned above...

    it didn't have 10 tracks from Ronnie's band !?!?!?

This might be entirely new, which then gets me very excited . :agree:

EDIT : Just saw your post Tim Doyle in my Hometown. You already have figured this out.

I hope Anthrax sees it, he was passing based on it being the same as the Silverline.

    Yes, that's possible.
It's also possible that the wiki page is mistaken :shh:

Thank you, Mr. Doyle, you're very kind. :)
This could be a goodie so I'll keep an eye on the reports.

Not available within 20 miles of me until 08/14. Plenty of time for me to read y'all's reviews, and decide.
