PAL also has fewer frames per second than NTSC(25 versus 30), so NTSC can show rapid movement better, though after DVD's MPEG data reduction that may be a moot point.

Aka "Never Twice (the) Same Color :D
As I've said a few times before, for those of us in the UK it really isn't an issue as our players output NTSC and our sets can process it but it makes more sense for an international release to use NTSC.
I buy R1 DVD's and find rapid movement better than that on 'native' discs. The big difference used to be off air.
Anyway at least the Blu Ray/DVD is coming out so let's hope the mastering is good.

On May 18, Hip-O Records will reissue the Alchemy Live video from Dire Straits on DVD and BD (Blu-ray) with new remastering and newly remixed 5.1 Surround capability, scheduling the title for May 18 (DVD/BD).

Presumably, Hip-O won't be able to release a DVD + CD set in the U.S.A., because the CD rights still remain with Warner Brothers in the U.S.A.
As for the Uk Blu-Ray, DVD & DVD + CD editions, "Key Mail Order" is taking preorders.
