Steve, it sounds like you are referring to the 2 CD set,
"The Original Bad Company Anthology". I've never owned it, myself.

Actually Steve, come to think of it, it sounds like you may be confusing this with the Cars' "Anthology" 2 CD set. That one has the ugly "glitter" cardboard slipcover.
The Bad Co. Anthology has a black cardboard slipcover
with very small pictures of their 1st 6 album covers.
I don't actually own either of these sets, but I've seen them in the stores many times.

  3. Not common here in New Zealand either. All I have ever come across in the second hand bins have been the Marino remasters.

Did we ever figure out if Steve was actually talking about the Cars set?

I finally landed the Diament mastered CD copy! It is light-years ahead of the remaster. I appreciate all the posts helping me to identify the best sounding copy. I look forward to enjoying the listening for many years to come.

I finally spotted a four dollar SRC copy, rocking out in the car. Bless Barry's ears.

    Cheers, Michael

John Buchanan I'm just a headphone kind of fellow. Stax Sigma

Let me say that after comparing the two, the SH remaster is the one that remains here. The Barry Diament is still an excellent second choice, though.

    Here's what I have:

    Bad Co. - Swan Song 7 90332-2
Straight Shooter - Swan Song SS 8502-2
Run With The Pack - Swan Song SS 8503-2
    Burnin' Sky - Swan Song 7 8500-2
Desolation Angels - Swan Song 8506-2

Are there "better" versions? I don't doubt it. But I'm personally very happy with these original, crankable CDs.

The Audio Fidelity "Straight Shooter" disc is stunning. Would be great if they did Running With The Pack also.

The AF is a great disc if you can get one in budget, but nobody would be disappointed with Barry's it's also a very fine disc. These two are streets ahead of the headache inducing remaster imo.

Listening to this right now. The Barry Diament master SS 8502-2. I have to agree with the posts above. This one sounds great!

It look me awhile to complete my Bad Company original non-remastered CD collection but I finally did it through Amazon Marketplace and eBay. It was well worth it!

I already have a pre-order in for the April deluxe version of BC and SS. I'm hoping the debut deluxe is an improvement over the 94 G.M. version I have. Its good to know of these earlier versions, so thank you. Anyone considering the deluxe versions?

I will be waiting to hear reviews of the sound quality of these deluxe versions. I hope they are remastered nicely. Let us know how you like them.
