Looking at the other thread, I see the $19.98 refers to the AF discs that are still in print. I hope the new ones will be the same price, but I understand if they won't be. Doesn't matter, I will still get them!! ;)

It will be interesting to hear the story behind the Band disc, if Steve ever tells it here ... I was under the impression the masters were lost (?). Anyone have further info? I heard this album in it's entirety for the first time recently and loved it. I had not picked it up yet, and I am glad!

That all depends on how it was recorded, right? You can't take a final master tape (or digital file) and "unsmash" them. If there are no individual tracks to remix (drums, guitar, etc.) it can't be salvaged.

At least I think that's how it works.

Now, let's try to stay on topic, folks and focus on what is actually being released!

I think story was there was a certain member of the Band that had the 2 track mixdown and due to disagreements with other band members he held on to it. Steve did remixed it back in the DCC days but didn't think he was able to replicate the original mix.

That's what we've wanted to hear. Having missed on DCC's glory years, I'd given up hope that we'd ever see the likes of it again. This is a dream come true. :goodie:

    I'm going to guess no.

With all due respect, we've been led down this path before. I'll get excited when these are actually released. Until then, I'll remain cautiously optimistic.

That's my question too. That new A/D converter Steve mentioned in the other thread will have a lot to do with the sound but I'm wondering if anything else will change.

Glad I didn't pay out the nose for my DCC disc. Those prices are sure to fall.

BTW, since Steve is mentioning these titles does that mean they're already finished? He usually waits until things are pretty much ready to go to give us the good words.

I think we're in sync today Jamie, that was my other thought...

There's no way Steve would mention getting the master of the brown Band album unless it was a sure thing.

    WOW!!!

All great titles, but I can't believe Marshall ok'd Alice Cooper, I was under the impression he didn't really like the band too much ... that is SUPER news for me, was a big fan back in the day and can't wait for School's Out to get the 24K treatment with those new A/D convertors. Hopefully it'll sell well so Marshall might try for Killer and/or Love It To Death also.

Out of the first four mentioned I'm getting 'em all!
