By all means I will be purchasing this one. Insurgentes was an outstanding work I still play that one on a fairly regular basis.

The clips sound excellent...for clips. Aside from the album itself, NYC and Philly will be on the agenda.

I'm sure Steven meant that less than 3dB of compression or limiting was used at mastering, possibly not even on every track, or on a couple of tracks only. That's "virtually" for you. ;)

Holy macaroni...Steven is now posting here? I'm actually currently listening to a track of his right now. A Grapefruit In The World Of Park.

Amen, now let's hope others in the business that are in charge of the proverbial "coffers" start thinking the same way and taking a chance on releasing some titles to test the waters.

I am ready with bells on.

I'm sorry to see this wont be a DVD-A, at least for my system. I dont have a receiver that can decode high rez audio formats so I guess I'm SOL. Really bummed that Steve is giving up on DVD-A.

How were you decoding DVD-A discs?

Very psyched to see Steve Hackett is also on this disc. Was/is Steve a genesis fan?

Blu-ray is fine with me. I'll take Hi Res any way that I can get it. All of the PT and KC Hi Res has been very, very good.

    Hmmm, Aqualung Blu-ray perchance ?

"Something else I've recently remixed, and that I think most people here are going to want, is also coming out on Blu-Ray later this year, so a player could be a worthwhile investment."

What else have you recently remixed?! It can't be King Crimson, that's strictly DVD-Audio right? It can't be Aqualung cause you said that's DVD-Video, unless we convinced EMI otherwise? Could it be a reissue of one of your albums (PT included)? Could it be Opeth? Or another classic Prog band? What is it?! Give us a hint please! :goodie:

But I prefer no compressing or limiting at all. This music definitely deserves it! :righton:

  20. Given that he wrote a fair bit of the music, I'd say yes . . .

The 40th anniversary of the UK release of Fragile would be this coming November (it was held back in the US until January 1972). Kind of surprised there is nothing stirring on that front or in 2112 for Close To The Edge.

And to stay on-topic I'm really looking forward to Grace for Drowning. What I have heard this far sounds great and I really enjoy Insurgentes. SW is amazingly prolific. Does he sleep?
